Jenna

Role in the daycare: Assistant Early Childhood Educator

What is your passion? Working and teaching the kids new things

What are your hobbies? Camping, going on hikes, fishing and spending time with family and friends

What got you started in the Early Childhood Education Field? I completed my 40 hours of community service at the daycare and I was offered a position after completion.

Role in the daycare: To provide a quality, caring and supportive child care program as an early childhood educator

What is your passion? To promote a positive learning experience and make it as enjoyable as possible so the children will be excited about learning.

What are your hobbies? Gardening, reading, spending time with family and friends, music

What got you started in the Early Childhood Education Field? I came from a large family and I enjoyed my childhood immensely. I wanted to help young children learn and establish an educational foundation for the rest of their lives.

Role in the daycare: RECE for the past 5 years

What is your passion? My family, especially spending time with my grandchildren.

What are your hobbies? reading and gardening.

What got you started in the Early Childhood Education Field? Babysat in my own home for 17 years then has the opportunity of getting hired by Penny and enrolling in the ECE program.

Role in the daycare: ECE-aid

What is your passion? Making sure the children are happy. Always helping them.

What are your hobbies? Walking and running around with the kids

What got you started in the Early Childhood Education Field? My daughter has a physical disability and once she started school and wanted to help other children reach all their goals.

Role in the daycare: Assistant ECE. I assist the children in their everyday needs and teach them new and exciting things while encouraging their own play.

What is your passion? Although working with children has definitely become one of my passions, I truly love cooking and baking.

What are your hobbies? I love baking and reading in my spare time.

What got you started in the Early Childhood Education Field? I came to Second Street Daycare from our of town and I have always wanted to get into childcare, specifically, become a kindergarten teacher someday. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to get my foot in the door and I have loved every minute of it ever since.

What is your passion? Providing ample learning opportunities for the children

What are your hobbies? baking, sewing and reading

What got you started in the Early Childhood Education Field? In grade 12 I did my co-op at a dayacre and instantly loved it. from there I became an ECE assistant at another centre and soon came to Second Street

Role in the daycare: ECE Aide. I have been employed at SSDC for 10 years and have worked in every classroom.

What is your passion? Being around loved ones, my dogs, friends and family are my world!

What are your hobbies? camping (being outside), music and reading.

What got you started in the Early Childhood Education Field? I did job shadowing/career day in high school at SSDC. I loved the experience and came back to work in the summer as a student

Role in the daycare: I have been an RECE for 6 years and worked at SSDC for 10

What is your passion? My family and friends and working with children.

What are your hobbies? Music, cleaning, traveling, camping

What got you started in the Early Childhood Education Field? I started at SSDC in 2006 during a high school co-op. After completing my placement, I was offered a summer job. I fell in love with the children and the organization instantly and decided to stay.
